This is a 12-16 month internship opportunity for a Weights Engineering Intern to support aircraft mass properties and physical weighing activities. Working alongside experienced engineers in both office and hangar environments, you will gain hands-on experience in the design, development, certification, and production of the De Havilland aircraft portfolio.
What you'll do#
- Assist with physical aircraft weighing activities, including equipment setup, aircraft leveling, and data collection.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of aircraft weight statements and mass properties databases.
- Review and organize internal and supplier component weight data.
- Assist engineering teams with weight tracking and basic weight impact assessments.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and documentation to support certification and customer delivery activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Flight Test teams on assigned projects.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to weight management processes and tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and aircraft systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and hangar environments.
Location & details#
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Fall 2026 start.
- Modality: On-site, full-time.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, confined spaces, and heights. Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, standing, kneeling, and using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Schedule: Ability to work shift rotations, including weekends, night shifts, or overtime as required.
