About the role#
DB Insurance Co., Ltd. (U.S. Branch) is seeking an Underwriting Operations Intern to support our team in Anaheim. This 12-month, full-time position offers hands-on exposure to core insurance functions, including risk monitoring, reinsurance operations, and data integration. You will work directly with the Senior Underwriting Manager to bridge the gap between technical data and underwriting strategy.
What you'll do#
- Assist in monitoring underwriting guidelines and help implement updates.
- Support the management of treaty reinsurance, including data reporting, commission settlements, and preparing renewal materials.
- Research and evaluate external underwriting tools, such as natural catastrophe modeling and satellite imagery providers.
- Manage contracts with external vendors and use data to support loss ratio analysis.
- Maintain file integrity and update internal underwriting manuals and standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
- A genuine curiosity about the insurance industry and a desire to grow into a full-time Underwriting professional.
- Strong numerical aptitude with the ability to analyze data sets and perform accurate calculations.
- Exceptional precision and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to break down complex information into clear, understandable insights for the team.

- Location: Anaheim, California.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
- Compensation: $20 per hour.
- Duration: 12 months.
