About the role#
The Videographer Intern supports the Creative and Content team at D.C. United. You will capture, edit, and produce video content that tells the story of the club, players, and fans. This role offers hands-on experience in professional sports content creation, including matchday coverage, training sessions, and social media features. You will work within an intern cohort on interdepartmental projects to gain experience in videography.
What you'll do#
- Film, edit, and format video content for social media, the stadium board, and broadcast partners.
- Edit highlights, hype videos, and behind-the-scenes footage for daily distribution.
- Assist with pre-game and in-game video shoots, including the setup and breakdown of equipment.
- Capture, log, organize, and maintain video footage and media assets.
- Work with producers and the video team to bring creative concepts to life.
- Participate in professional development through mentorship and team collaboration.
What you'll need#
- Active undergraduate or graduate student status, with eligibility to receive college credit.
- Coursework in videography, film production, media, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and Creative Cloud applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to dedicate up to 25 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work matchdays, weekends, and evenings as needed.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and professional communication abilities.
- Prior experience in sports or related fields is a plus, as is Spanish language proficiency.
Location & details#
- This is an unpaid internship for the Winter 2027 term.
- The role follows a hybrid schedule. In-person work occurs Tuesday through Thursday at the D.C. United offices in Washington, DC. Remaining days are virtual, excluding matchdays or events.
