About the role#
CymSTAR is hiring a Software Engineer Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You will work on simulation software for training devices used in the defense and aerospace industries. This role is paid and requires U.S. citizenship, as you must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
What you'll do#
- Design, code, implement, and test simulation software for training devices.
- Develop preliminary and detail software designs that meet project requirements.
- Perform subsystem, integration, and acceptance testing for software products.
- Troubleshoot software to identify and solve technical problems.
- Create specifications, design documents, source code, and test documentation.
- Program using C, C++, C#, Python, or other high-order languages.
- Work within the Linux operating system.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore or Junior in an ABET-accredited engineering program, specifically Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or an Associate’s degree from an accredited college.
- Ability to read and interpret technical literature.
- Proficiency in mathematics including trigonometry, calculus, modern algebra, Boolean algebra, and ratios.
- Experience with software configuration management tools like Git and Subversion.
- Proficiency with standard PC software including development environments, word processors, spreadsheets, and team collaboration tools.
- Ability to reside and work in Tulsa County, Oklahoma, from approximately 17 May to 13 August 2027.
