About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will research new technologies and platforms. You will work under the direction of a Principle Engineer or Investigator to contribute to software architecture, development, and testing. You will document your findings and handle software-related tasks both independently and as part of a team.
What you'll do#
- Research and evaluate new technology platforms.
- Develop and test software architectures.
- Document technical findings.
- Collaborate with project leads and supervisors.
- Apply machine learning or cloud computing technologies to solve problems.
What you'll need#
- 2-4 years of experience in computer programming, either professional or through college coursework.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or .NET.
- Familiarity with Linux, SQL, XML, relational database design, Storm, or H-Base.
- Knowledge of parallel computing systems.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Department of Defense security clearance.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position in Buffalo, New York.
- The role is full-time and paid at a rate of $24 to $35 per hour, depending on your completed years of school.
- We are looking for students majoring in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- This position follows a rolling application term.
