About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in strategic communication, content creation, and community engagement. You will support the communications team for a member-owned electric cooperative and its rural broadband provider. The role requires 120 hours of work during the Fall 2026 semester and includes a $500 stipend. You will report to the Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Relations.
What you'll do#
- Create social media graphics, short-form videos, and reels.
- Draft content for member emails, print materials, and bill inserts.
- Help gather information and write press releases.
- Support outreach for youth and scholarship programs, including school career days.
- Represent the cooperative and its broadband subsidiary at community events like business expos and job fairs.
- Assist with internal communications, such as employee newsletters and engagement events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience managing social media platforms like Facebook, X, and Instagram.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time, organize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Valid Driver's License.

- Location: Jonesboro, Arkansas.
- Modality: On-site at headquarters.
- Travel: Occasional travel within the service area may be required. You are responsible for your own travel expenses.
