About the role#
ControlTouch Systems is seeking a Co-Op Engineer for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site position in Louisville, KY, involves supporting all phases of controls projects, from initial concept and research to final after-sales support. You will work under the guidance of an experienced engineer while contributing to project teams and maintaining established guidelines.
What you'll do#
- Assist in project phases including estimating, component selection, network design, and panel layout.
- Perform PLC and HMI programming and use design engineering software.
- Support the development of electrical diagrams, detailed schematics, and system documentation.
- Participate in on-site installation, device troubleshooting, and system debugging.
- Communicate project status effectively to team members and assist in the creation of system manuals.
- Travel to customer facilities as required, which may include non-business hours.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Computer Engineering.
- Foundational knowledge of controls concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Basic programming, design, and CAD skills, along with proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and obtain airport security clearance if necessary.
