About the role#
ControlTouch Systems is hiring a Co-Op Engineer for Summer 2026. You will work under an experienced engineer to support all phases of a controls project. This role involves both office work and time at field locations. You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from initial research and estimating to on-site installation and after-sales support.
What you'll do#
- Assist with concept research, component selection, and network design.
- Create electrical schematics, diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Program PLCs and HMIs using design software.
- Troubleshoot devices and systems during installation and startup.
- Contribute to project documentation and user manuals.
- Coordinate with team members to deliver successful control solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, EET, or CECS.
- Basic knowledge of controls concepts, programming, and design.
- Proficiency in CAD software and the MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to solve problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
Location & details#
- Location: Louisville, KY.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position.
- Travel: You must be willing to travel to customer facilities up to 50% of the time.
- Schedule: General office hours are Monday through Friday, but field work hours will vary based on project requirements.
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit for prolonged periods.
