About the role#
As a Test & Validation Intern at Contoro Robotics, you will work directly with our autonomous truck unloading systems. You will run robots through structured test procedures to confirm whether features are ready for customer sites. You will work alongside senior engineers and feature owners to provide reliable feedback on hardware and software changes. This is a hands-on role involving physical robots and test data.
What you'll do#
- Execute predefined test procedures across tiered levels, from single-box handling to full site simulations.
- Record and report test results, including failure modes, timestamps, and environmental conditions.
- Set up and tear down test environments, including conveyor configurations and sensor calibrations, following documented runbooks.
- Flag test failures and route them to feature owners with supporting logs, video, and metrics.
- Maintain test result dashboards to provide visibility into product readiness.
- Track regression by re-running tests after code or hardware changes.
- Assist the senior test engineer with instrumentation upkeep and environment maintenance.
- Document setup issues or gaps in existing runbooks.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Attention to detail and comfort with repetitive, structured tasks that require precision.
- Ability to document and communicate observations clearly.
- Basic familiarity with the Linux command line.
- Ability to follow technical runbooks.
- Exposure to ROS, sensor data, or robotic systems is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Austin, Texas.
- The position is available on a rolling basis and requires availability throughout two continuous terms.
