About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work with our engineering team to build the core ConductorAI platform. This is a user-facing web application focused on large-scale document search, review, and AI-powered workflows. You will contribute to production systems, including document-processing pipelines, agentic workflow execution, and database scaling. This role involves both product engineering and systems work, where you will design intuitive interfaces for complex workflows used in defense, government, and regulated commercial environments.
What you'll do#
- Build and improve search, review, and AI-powered agents for accuracy and consistency.
- Develop polished, reliable user-facing features in our Next.js and React application.
- Create backend APIs, data models, and workflow execution paths.
- Write high-quality, maintainable code within a small team.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of production systems.
- Own features and technical problems from the initial idea through implementation.
- Work with engineers, product teammates, and users to understand problems and translate them into product improvements.
- Learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions, and take on increasing ownership of your work.
What you'll need#
- US citizenship is required due to government contract obligations.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong computer science fundamentals and demonstrated software engineering ability.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
- Ability and willingness to work across our Python and TypeScript/React stack.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A product-minded approach with an interest in building intuitive software.
- A proactive, high-ownership mindset and a willingness to tackle challenging, ambiguous problems.
