Radiology Student Technologist | Per Diem

About the role#

The Radiology Student Technologist performs diagnostic radiology imaging procedures and related techniques under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. This per diem position requires students to work alongside an ARRT-registered professional at all times, as independent work is not permitted in clinical settings.

What you'll do#

• Perform radiological diagnostic or therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice and departmental standards.
• Assess patient information, prepare patients for procedures, and provide necessary education regarding expectations.
• Complete all required documentation for patient care and imaging procedures.
• Utilize hospital information systems and operate imaging equipment.
• Adhere to department policies, procedures, and modality-specific safety protocols.
• Participate in departmental meetings, committee initiatives, and continuous improvement assignments.
• Manage workload with productivity and flexibility to meet patient care needs.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
• Must be in the senior year of the accredited program.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Required aptitude and technical skills for radiology procedures.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds and performing repetitive motions in an environment with exposure to pathogens and radiation.
