The Imaging Student Technologist performs diagnostic radiology imaging procedures and related techniques under the direct supervision of a registered Technologist, Chief Technologist, Director, or Manager. This role supports the radiology department by assisting with patient preparation and documentation. Please note that student technologists must be supervised at all times and may not work shifts alone or independently in trauma or operating room situations.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiological diagnostic or therapeutic procedures within the scope of practice and departmental standards.
- Assess pertinent patient information, prepare patients for procedures, and explain expectations.
- Complete documentation related to patient care and specific procedures.
- Utilize hospital information technology systems and equipment.
- Maintain productivity and adhere to departmental policies, safety protocols, and professional requirements.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an education program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
- Must be in good standing and currently in the clinical phase of the program, or in the senior year of study.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Possession of required technical skills as assessed by the Chief Technologist, Director, or Manager.

- Employment Type: Per Diem.
- Physical Requirements: Classified as Medium work; requires the ability to lift, carry, or push/pull up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently. The role involves exposure to radiation, bloodborne pathogens, and various clinical environments.
