About the role#
This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in healthcare support services. You will work closely with the Environmental Services leadership team at Alleghany General Hospital to develop professional skills and learn the operational requirements of the field. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform and assist with duties related to the overall cleanliness of the hospital.
- Manage, schedule, and train frontline team members.
- Oversee vendor relations and patient experience efforts.
- Ensure patient satisfaction and public relations through the efficient use of resources.
- Execute operational standards and maintain a safe work environment.
- Respond to requests and concerns with urgency.
- Maintain facility security and identify quality assurance concerns.
- Provide guidance and motivation to associates.
- Ensure staff receive proper orientation and ongoing training.
- Handle special projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled as a college or university junior or senior.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with staff at all levels, from hourly employees to Directors.
- Ability to stay organized and set priorities in a changing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- An interest in a career with Crothall Healthcare and the Accelerated Manager Program after graduation is preferred.
