About the role#
Companion Animal Clinic, located in Blacksburg, Virginia, offers an externship for veterinary students seeking mentorship and hands-on experience. This AAHA-accredited practice serves companion animals and exotics, supported by a team of six veterinarians and multiple licensed veterinary technicians. The clinic features a surgical suite, dental suite with digital dental x-ray, digital radiography, and ultrasound capabilities.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the clinical care of companion animals and exotics.
- Participate in wellness exams and dental procedures.
- Support veterinarians during surgical and medical operations.
- Assist with the management of medical and vacation boarding.
- Engage in team collaborations and training exercises.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (VMD or DVM degree path).
- Strong clinical interest in wellness and dentistry.
- Interest in working with exotic animals.
- A desire for mentorship and professional growth.
- Ability to connect and collaborate with multiple VetEvolve practices.
