About the role#
Community First Credit Union is looking for a Community Affairs and Marketing Intern to support initiatives that strengthen our brand and community presence. This role provides hands-on experience in event planning, sponsorship activation, philanthropy, and social media marketing. You will work with our team to build relationships with local organizations and showcase our impact across Northeast Florida.
What you'll do#
- Plan, coordinate, and execute community events, volunteer activities, and sponsorship activations.
- Manage event logistics such as setup, registration, attendance tracking, and post-event reporting.
- Track engagement metrics, volunteer participation, and sponsorship outcomes.
- Maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations, schools, and local business partners.
- Coordinate partner benefits, including the distribution of tickets.
- Promote internal employee engagement and volunteer programs.
- Gather content, including photography and video, to highlight community impact.
- Complete additional marketing and community affairs projects as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Nonprofit Management, Event Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in corporate philanthropy, community engagement, and marketing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Comfort using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours occasionally to support community events.
- Experience with Canva or other content creation tools is a plus.
- Previous experience in volunteer work, leadership roles, or campus organizations is preferred.

- This position is based in Jacksonville, Florida.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship with a rolling term.
