About the role#
Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. hires engineering students for the Summer 2027 or Winter 2027 terms. You will support experienced engineering teams on infrastructure projects including potable water, wastewater, stormwater, dams, levees, and site civil work. This role involves a mix of field and office tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist team members with field work, inspections, engineering reports, permits, and construction engineering.
- Perform simple design calculations using standard techniques and procedures.
- Review construction drawings and specifications.
- Work under the direct supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- You possess a basic understanding of engineering principles and a willingness to learn.
- You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- You maintain a valid driver's license.
- You can apply technical skills to solve problems for clients.
- You demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and self-initiative to meet deadlines.
- All offers require a satisfactory background check.
