About the role#
This is a full-time research internship for the Fall 2026 or Winter 2027 terms. You will work alongside researchers to design and implement novel ideas, contributing to projects that span base model training, retrieval augmented generation, data evaluation, safety, and finetuning. The role focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical research and production-ready machine learning systems.
What you'll do#
- Conduct cutting-edge machine learning research, including building and training large language models.
- Expand the frontier of knowledge in language modeling and related areas such as evaluation, multimodal models, and optimization.
- Disseminate research results through the production of publications, datasets, and code.
- Contribute to research initiatives that have practical applications in product development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program in Machine Learning, NLP, or a related discipline.
- Experience with large-scale distributed training strategies, data annotation and evaluation pipelines, or implementing state-of-the-art machine learning models.
- Proficiency in ML frameworks such as JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
- Previous experience building systems based on machine learning and deep learning techniques.
- Ability to communicate complex research findings clearly and succinctly.

- This is a remote position.
- The internship is a full-time commitment lasting 4 to 6 months.
- This is a paid internship.
- Candidates must maintain valid work authorization in the country of employment for the duration of the internship.
