About the role#
As an Area Manager intern, you will join a shipping line department to manage and optimize vessel loading capacity for a specific region. Working under the supervision of Line Management, you will implement trade and pricing policies while handling quote requests from clients and agents.
What you'll do#
- Ensure the Line pricing policy is followed by agents to optimize budget results and vessel capacity.
- Conduct marketing follow-ups, including market research and statistical analysis.
- Report Key Performance Indicators to Line Management.
- Perform competitive intelligence and provide recommendations.
- Participate in defining boarding priorities.
- Assist in creating the sales budget and analyze budget variances to suggest corrective actions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a postgraduate degree program (5 years) in Business, Logistics, or Transport.
- Previous experience in a business or marketing role.
- Fluency in English.
- Proficiency with computer tools, specifically Excel.
- Ability to work in an organized and self-reliant manner.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
- An entrepreneurial mindset.
