About the role#
Clifford-Jacobs Forging is looking for an Engineering Intern to join our team in Champaign, Illinois. This is a full-time, paid position focused on improving manufacturing processes and supporting plant operations.
What you'll do#
- Reduce steel usage, stock size, lead time, and scrap.
- Develop and implement strategies for robotics and plant expansion projects.
- Improve manufacturing technology and plant velocity.
- Digitize operations to reduce paper usage.
- Improve time estimation and eliminate inefficient processes.
- Research and develop new materials and processes.
- Recommend industry best practices.
- Work on product development and energy consumption reduction.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university as a Mechanical Engineering or Material Science major.
- Project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ProE Die Design.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, heat treating basics, and mechanical testing.
- Strong analytical capability.
