Founding Engineer Intern

About the role#

Clera is seeking a Founding Engineer Intern to work directly with the CTO in San Francisco. This role focuses on building and shipping features daily to automate the recruiting process. You will contribute to the development of an agentic AI system and participate in hacker-house environments, including periods in Latin America.

What you'll do#

• Build and ship features daily alongside the CTO to automate the recruiting process end-to-end.
• Own full end-to-end development for core product features, from initial ideation through to production.
• Collaborate with the founding team to design and ship components of an agentic AI system.
• Engage with users to measure impact on hiring speed and drive rapid iteration.
• Operate in a high-output environment with daily feedback loops.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• At least 6 months of experience with React and TypeScript in a production environment.
• Hands-on experience with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, and Typesense in a production React/TypeScript stack.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive features from ideation to production independently.
• Experience working in entrepreneurial and scrappy environments.
• A full-stack focus rather than specialization in a single language like Python or C++.
• A standout profile, such as a strong academic record, impressive projects, or an active GitHub presence.
• Willingness to work 7 days per week and participate in hacker-house setups in Latin America.

• This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Francisco, California.
• The position includes periods of work in hacker-house settings in Latin America.
• Visa sponsorship is available for this role.
• The internship term is rolling.
