    About the role#

    Clean Water Action is hiring Environmental Organizers to join our field team in Northampton. This role focuses on grassroots advocacy, community engagement, and fundraising to support clean water and public health initiatives. We are looking for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector while working directly with the public.

    What you'll do#

    • Educate community members on environmental policy priorities including climate change, water affordability, and toxic chemical regulation.
    • Raise funds and awareness to sustain our ongoing public health and environmental campaigns.
    • Advocate for legislative action regarding corporate accountability and utility affordability.
    • Participate in professional development and training sessions focused on organizing and advocacy skills.

    What you'll need#

    • A commitment of at least 3 days per week.
    • Strong oral communication skills to effectively engage with the public.
    • Interest in grassroots organizing, nonprofit work, or policy advocacy.
    • An interest in environmental and social justice issues.
    • Backgrounds in fields such as Environmental Engineering, Political Science, Public Health, Sociology, or Communications are helpful, though not required.

    Location & details#

    • This is an in-person role based in Northampton, Massachusetts.
    • Positions are full-time, ranging from 32.5 to 40 hours per week.
    • Shifts occur in the evening, typically between 2:00 PM and 10:00 PM depending on the season.
    • This is a paid position with bonus opportunities and benefits available for those working over 21 hours per week.
