About the role#
We are seeking a Land Surveying Intern to join our team in Louisville for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position where you will gain hands-on experience by assisting with various surveying projects. You will work primarily in the field, contributing to the data collection and documentation necessary for our civil engineering operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform boundary surveys to establish legal property lines.
- Conduct topographic surveys to map ground contours and existing site features.
- Assist with construction surveys for municipal, private, and roadway projects.
- Operate Trimble robotic, conventional, and GPS equipment along with Leica 3D scanning tools.
- Use survey data collection software to process measurements.
- Import field data daily and maintain professional, detailed field notes.
- Handle general equipment maintenance and follow all safety procedures.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree program related to survey, geography, or survey drafting is preferred.
- Ability to work 30-40 hours per week, typically starting between 6:00 am and 7:00 am.
- A valid driver license and a clean driving record.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, and cold.
- Capacity to lift and carry 30 lbs in field settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
