About the role#
The City of Ottawa is seeking a CO-OP Student for the Financial Services department for the Fall 2026 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Ottawa, Ontario. This role is exclusively for students currently enrolled in a recognized post-secondary co-operative education program.
What you'll do#
- Support Financial Services by performing various departmental activities.
- Research trends and analyze data to draw conclusions.
- Maintain system accounts and update internal documentation.
- Participate as a team member on special projects.
- Perform general administrative duties as required.
What you'll need#
- Current enrolment in a recognized post-secondary co-operative program in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of financial principles and applicable health and safety legislation.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Ability to conduct research, write clear reports, and present information effectively.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Fluency in English for oral, reading, and writing tasks.
- No prior work experience is required.

- Location: Ottawa, Ontario (100 Constellation, Nepean).
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site, 35 hours per week.
- Requirement: Successful candidates must complete a Criminal Records and Judicial Matters Check (Level 2).
