About the role#
The Rail Construction Program supports the development and sustainability of Ottawa's Light Rail Transit systems. This role involves assisting with design and construction activities for transit extensions and supporting infrastructure projects, including highway widening and multimodal network integration.
What you'll do#
- Carry out specific assignments related to the Rail Construction Program.
- Validate the completion of construction activities in the field.
- Ensure work adheres to appropriate codes, designs, and methods.
- Communicate with staff at all levels.
- Participate in meetings and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Enrolment in a recognized post-secondary co-operative program in civil, structural, mechanical, chemical, environmental, or electrical engineering, or architecture.
- Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s licence or provincial equivalent.
- Ability to read engineering plans and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of construction project management processes.
- Basic competency in writing and testing computer programs.
- English language proficiency in oral, reading, and writing skills.
