About the role#
This internship provides professional training and experience by combining academic theory with real-world tax applications. The program takes place during the busy season, beginning in early January and running through April or May. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Prepare tax returns and tax extensions.
- Organize tax information.
- Assist with tax notices and examinations.
- Maintain a working knowledge of office tax preparation software.
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a junior or one year prior to graduation (based on a 4- or 5-year program).
- Completion of at least one tax class.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and attention to detail.
- Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week, including weekends as needed.
- Participation in the VITA program is preferred.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
