About the role#
We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Intern to join our Gear Up Early Career Program. In this role, you will work on projects that support our manufacturing operations while developing technical and professional skills. You will collaborate with supervisors, team leads, and operators to improve manufacturing efficiency and workflow.
What you'll do#
- Partner with the Continuous Improvement team to implement one-piece flow within manufacturing cells.
- Develop and document standardized work for manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with Additive Manufacturing to identify opportunities and design production fixtures.
- Map value streams to identify ways to improve workflow and manufacturing processes.
- Support continuous improvement projects and 5S workplace organization initiatives.
- Gather feedback from employees to help identify and implement process changes.
- Participate in team meetings and Kaizen events.
- Monitor project progress and prepare documentation, analysis, and presentations using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- Currently in your junior or senior year of undergraduate study.
- Interest in manufacturing, Lean principles, and problem solving.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Due to government regulation, only US persons may be considered for this role.
