The Speech Language Intern will observe and assist in assessing and providing intervention services to support student success. This role focuses on promoting an educational environment that fosters achievement for all students while building positive relationships with the school community.
What you'll do#
- Assess and provide intervention services for students with communication disorders, including articulation, language, fluency, and literacy.
- Monitor student progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Assess and provide intervention to English language learners.
- Work cooperatively with special education teams and staff to provide consultation regarding speech language needs.
- Support small group and individual services for students with varying abilities, including those with cognitive delays, autism, and learning disabilities.
- Participate in professional learning communities and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators.
What you'll need#
- Current license or endorsement in the appropriate content area(s) as required by the Colorado Department of Education.
- Colorado driver’s license.
- Proficiency in using technology.
- Strong knowledge of teaching methods, learning styles, and educational research related to special education.
- Strong communication, organization, and planning skills.
