    About the role#

    As a Student Wellbeing Mentor, you will work directly with elementary and middle school students to help them build resilience, confidence, and social-emotional skills. You will serve as a trusted adult, supporting students as they learn to navigate challenges in and out of the classroom. This is a part-time role focused on youth mental wellness and suicide prevention.

    What you'll do#

    • Build positive mentoring relationships with elementary and middle school students.
    • Facilitate individual and small-group sessions using the CHADS Coalition Social Emotional Well-Being curriculum.
    • Help students develop skills in emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.
    • Communicate regularly with teachers, school staff, and families.
    • Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation and outcome data.
    • Ensure all services meet program and quality standards.
    • Participate in agency meetings, supervision, and professional development.
    • Represent the organization professionally within partner schools.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Youth Development, Mental Health, or a related field.
    • 1 to 3 years of experience working with elementary or middle school-aged children.
    • Experience with social-emotional development, mentoring, or youth programming.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills.
    • Reliable transportation to assigned schools.
    • Preferred: Experience in K-8 school settings, small group facilitation, knowledge of suicide prevention, and experience working with diverse student populations.

    Location & details#

    • Location: St. Louis, Missouri.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Part-time, up to 32 hours per week during the academic year. You must be available for at least 15 hours per week between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
    • Compensation: $21 to $23 per hour.
