About the role#
This 16-month internship position sits within the Strategic Sourcing and Value Creation team. You will work closely with commodity management to analyze mechanical drawings, source parts, and coordinate with suppliers. This role specifically supports the Aerospace and Defense segment, focusing on high-reliability solutions for mission-critical applications. You will operate under supervision, following established routines and procedures, with the opportunity to take on more complex duties as you gain proficiency.
What you'll do#
- Review supply and demand while performing price-cost analysis for value creation projects.
- Draft Value Add proposals for internal and external customers.
- Maintain project reporting trackers and drive execution with global site program managers.
- Access the Defense Logistics Agency website to identify alternative parts and suppliers.
- Support supplier-related activities, including quotations, material availability evaluations, and dual sourcing initiatives.
- Prepare cost estimates for new bids and manage cost savings change processes.
- Coordinate interactions between cross-functional stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
- Generate ideas to automate and streamline manual processes.
- Prepare basic reports and summaries for internal stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a University or College Internship program, majoring in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Foundational understanding of ERP platforms like SAP, business intelligence tools, and AI tools such as Google Gemini.
- Familiarity with data reporting or Power BI dashboards.
- Basic understanding of supply chain concepts, including procurement, inventory, and lead times.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and report writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
- Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
- Successful completion of a security assessment per the Controlled Goods Program.
