About the role#
The Planning Associate intern will join our supply chain team for a 16-month term starting in Summer 2027. This role offers exposure to procurement, business, and manufacturing processes within a global technology company. You will receive guidance and mentorship as you contribute to our supply chain operations.
What you'll do#
- Match material requirements with inventory turnover to maintain efficient stock levels.
- Manage surplus, excess, and obsolete inventory while preparing regular reports.
- Resolve discrepancies between receipts and supplier invoices.
- Review manufacturing production goals and adjust plans to meet targets.
- Analyze inputs such as capacity, cycle times, request urgency, and material availability to help determine schedules.
- Serve as a customer liaison during new product introductions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an internship program, completing the 3rd year of a 4-year university degree or the 2nd year of a 3-year diploma.
- Specialization in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of production planning, scheduling, materials requirements planning, and manufacturing control systems.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to learn and use internal applications, including ERP and office systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems independently.
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada and meet all requirements under the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Newmarket, Ontario.
- Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program.
