About the role#
The Aerospace and Defense Engineering Associate Intern will join the Value Engineering team to support product verification and component analysis. You will work under supervision to review component parameters, gather supply chain data, and substantiate component selections. This role provides exposure to product design and manufacturing processes within the aerospace and defense sector.
What you'll do#
- Collect and analyze data for the Value Engineering team, including cost, price, demand, and inventory metrics.
- Review design documentation to understand design intent and component parameters.
- Create documentation, tables, and 4UP charts to justify new component selections.
- Support testing of components and end units for verification purposes through documentation.
- Manage the proposal database (Platypus) with continuous and timely updates.
- Lead internal review meetings for your generated proposals.
- Facilitate weekly RAIL meetings with major customers.
- Interface with supply chain teams to determine priority for component investigations.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university or college internship program, completing the 3rd year of a 4-year degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interface directly with engineering, supply chain, vendors, and manufacturing teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability and a strong desire to learn new technologies.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027 (16-month internship).
- Modality: Remote (Canada).
- Employment type: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid ($23-30 CAD/hr).
- Note: This position is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP). Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a security assessment.
