About the role#
Carson Group is hiring two Risk Management Interns or recent graduates to help build and standardize our enterprise risk infrastructure. This is a hands-on position where you will own specific workstreams and produce deliverables used by our Legal, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and business teams. You will work directly with business leaders to translate complex processes into structured documentation.
What you'll do#
- Document and standardize policies, procedures, and process flows across various business units.
- Develop and improve Risk and Control Matrices that align with our enterprise risk register.
- Identify and document gaps in policies, procedures, and controls.
- Draft risk statements using root-cause methodology.
- Support control design and documentation within a standardized framework.
- Manage version control and change management for new and updated policies.
- Build and maintain documentation in SharePoint and other centralized repositories.
- Partner with stakeholders across the company to gather requirements and present your findings.
What you'll need#
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, Business, MIS, or a related field (in progress or recently completed).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to organize complex information clearly.
- Analytical and process-oriented thinking to connect risks, processes, and controls.
- Experience managing multiple deliverables at once.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and turn incomplete information into actionable outputs.
- Familiarity with process mapping tools like Visio, Draw.io, or Lucidchart is a plus.
- Prior experience or project work in documentation, analysis, or process improvement is beneficial.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site at our headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.
- The position is full-time, with an expected hourly wage between $18 and $20.
- We are looking for candidates available for 30-40 hours per week, with a minimum requirement of 25 hours during regular business hours for part-time applicants.
