About the role#
Cannon Corporation is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern to work in our San Luis Obispo office. You will work under the direction of project managers and engineers to support various projects in the oil and gas industry. This position offers a minimum of 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D for design tasks.
- Assist with cost estimating and plan preparation.
- Conduct site visits to collect field data.
- Manage administrative tasks such as copying, organizing documents, and word processing.
- Review work through red-lining and back checking.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering at an accredited college.
- Status as a 3rd or 4th year student with availability to work through the summer.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive approach to supporting team members.
- Completion of the EIT exam is preferred.
- Previous internship experience in Civil Engineering is a plus.
