About the role#
Canem Systems Ltd. is looking for a student to join the team as a Student Estimator. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Edmonton, Alberta, for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on business-relevant projects while receiving guidance from a supervisor and a technical mentor.
What you'll do#
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand project requirements.
- Conduct take-offs from project drawings.
- Develop material and labor quantity estimates.
- Use estimating software to prepare detailed cost reports.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals.
- Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to review and analyze bids.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical data.
- Support the team in tracking project bids and reporting on market trends.
- Participate in departmental and project meetings.
- Stay current with industry trends and construction technologies.

- Current enrollment as a student.

- Experience or ability to learn estimating software and tools.
