About the role#
CampusWorks is seeking Bursar and Student Accounts Consultants to assist higher education clients in strengthening their financial operations and enhancing the student experience. These roles involve guiding institutions through transitional periods or providing specialized expertise to optimize processes and technology. Engagements may include serving as an interim Bursar, leading business process reviews, or managing ERP system implementations.
What you'll do#
- Serve as Interim Bursar, providing daily leadership to department staff.
- Provide oversight, direction, and coordination for ongoing bursar and student accounts projects.
- Assess the efficiency of the bursar and student accounts department.
- Design and deliver training programs.
- Assist clients in aligning policies, processes, procedures, and personnel to effectively leverage financial solutions.
What you'll need#
- 5+ years of experience as a college or university Bursar or in a related higher education role.
- Proficiency with higher education ERP software, such as Ellucian Colleague, Banner, Jenzabar, or Workday, including hands-on experience with bursar functionality.
- Experience assessing operations and recommending improvements for policy, staffing, and organizational alignment.
- Solid leadership skills, including the ability to facilitate diverse groups and drive consensus.
- Superior communication skills and a consultative approach to client service.

- This role is remote and supports clients across the United States.
- The position is available as a full-time opportunity or as a 1099 consultant contract.
