About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Appleton, Wisconsin. You will work on-site to support our payroll team with weekly processing and monthly union remittances. This role involves maintaining accurate employee records and coordinating with field management.
What you'll do#
- Manage employee records in the ERP system by processing documents and forms.
- Coordinate with field management to collect and review union new hire paperwork.
- Verify that I-9 forms meet government regulations and document them in the ERP system.
- Create new union employee records, including demographics and project assignment data.
- Document Social Security verifications in the employee master file.
- Submit required new hire reports to state agencies.
- Update employee records for changes like personal data, withholdings, transfers, or terminations.
- Resolve payroll inquiries from union employees.
- Support the payroll team during weekly processing and monthly remittances.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or GED with at least 1 year of accounting or payroll experience, or active pursuit of an Associates or Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and an interest in professional growth.
- Prior internship or consulting experience is a plus.
- Involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
