About the role#
Burns & McDonnell is hiring an Environmental Scientist Intern to join our Environmental Services team in Atlanta. This role supports the full life cycle of infrastructure development, including permitting and remediation projects for government, transportation, and industrial clients. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, and documentation.
- Create PowerPoint presentations and assist with general inquiries.
- Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research project concerns, analyze findings, and present potential solutions to the team.
- Assist with various ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills through campus, community, or volunteer involvement.
- Prior internship or consulting experience is preferred.
- A self-motivated attitude and a desire to learn.
Location & details#
- Location: Atlanta, Georgia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Travel: Approximately 5 percent of the time.
- Compensation: $19.50 to $31.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
- Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Benefits: Participation in the 401(k) program is available if eligibility requirements are met. Sick leave is accrued based on hours worked.
