About the role#
As an Environmental Scientist Intern, you will join our Environmental Services group. You will support the full life cycle of infrastructure development, including permitting and remediation projects. This role involves applying standard techniques and procedures to assist our project teams.
What you'll do#
- Perform tasks using standard engineering techniques.
- Assist with administrative duties such as filing, scanning, data entry, and creating PowerPoint presentations.
- Respond to general project questions.
- Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Research project concerns and recommend solutions.
- Present your findings and solutions to the team.
- Complete ad hoc project assignments as needed.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a self-motivated approach to learning.
- Active involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
- Prior internship or related consulting experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Travel: Approximately 5 percent of the time.
- Compensation: $19.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
- Benefits: Eligible for 401(k) participation and accrual of sick leave based on hours worked.
- Note: Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
