About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. You will join our Transmission & Distribution group to support electrical transmission and substation design projects. This role involves applying standard engineering techniques to real-world power delivery work. The position requires 5% travel.
What you'll do#
- Apply standard engineering techniques to design systems.
- Update and correct existing engineering designs.
- Support lead engineers with project-specific duties.
- Research technical concerns and recommend solutions.
- Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Handle administrative tasks such as documentation, data entry, and presentation preparation.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and general team inquiries.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, preferably from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a self-motivated approach to learning.
- Active involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
- Prior internship or consulting experience is a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
