About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will apply standard engineering techniques to support project teams. You will work on the design of engineering systems, update existing designs, and assist lead engineers with various project duties. Your work will support diverse groups, including Power, Transmission & Distribution, Aviation & Federal, and Global Facilities. You will also handle documentation tasks and contribute to continuous improvement efforts by analyzing data and researching solutions for project concerns.
What you'll do#
- Perform standard engineering design tasks and correct existing designs.
- Assist lead engineers with project-specific duties and ad hoc assignments.
- Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Research and present solutions to project concerns.
- Manage administrative tasks including filing, scanning, data entry, and creating PowerPoint presentations.
- Respond to general project inquiries.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Enrollment in a post-secondary or technical certificate program.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred, as is an ABET-accredited degree.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a self-motivated approach to learning.
- Active involvement in campus, community, or volunteer organizations.
- Prior internship or related consulting experience is preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Kansas City, Missouri.
- The role involves approximately 5% travel.
- This is a paid internship. Participants may be eligible for the 401(k) retirement program and accrue sick leave based on hours worked.
