About the role#
The Transmission & Distribution group focuses on the planning and design of electrical transmission projects. This includes work on overhead and underground transmission, distribution systems, substation design, and network engineering. As an intern, you will support these projects by handling drafting tasks and learning industry-specific practices.
What you'll do#
- Revise existing drawings and prepare new ones based on detailed sketches or verbal instructions.
- Plot drawings to meet project requirements.
- Follow specific company and client drafting standards.
- Learn the technical practices of the discipline.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a certificate, Associate's, or Bachelor's program for Computer-Aided Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership experience and active involvement in campus or community organizations.
- Previous internship or consulting experience is a plus.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
- The role requires approximately 5% travel.
- Interns may participate in the 401(k) program if they meet eligibility requirements.
- Sick leave is accrued based on hours worked.
