About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern in the Transmission & Distribution group, you will support the planning and design of electrical transmission projects. This includes work on overhead and underground transmission, distribution systems, substations, and grid modernization. You will apply standard engineering techniques while assisting lead engineers with daily project operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the design of engineering systems and update existing designs.
- Research project concerns, analyze data, and recommend solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing information.
- Present findings and solutions to project teams.
- Support administrative tasks including documentation, data entry, and presentation preparation.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and general inquiries as assigned by managers.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, preferably from an ABET-accredited program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and an active role in campus or community organizations.
- A self-motivated attitude with a desire to learn.
- Prior internship or consulting experience is a plus.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- Location: Vancouver, Washington.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $34.00 per hour.
- Travel: Approximately 5% of the time.
- Benefits: Interns may participate in the 401(k) retirement program if eligibility requirements are met. Sick leave is accrued based on hours worked.
