IT Co-op

About the role#

Burns Engineering is seeking an IT Co-op to join the team in Philadelphia. This role provides exposure to all facets of the IT department, including networking, infrastructure, customer support, application development, and building information modeling (BIM). Throughout the tenure, the co-op will rotate through these functional areas to gain a comprehensive understanding of the firm's technical operations.

What you'll do#

• Assist with IT support, ranging from help desk tasks to higher-level technical issues.
• Collaborate with the Network Architecture team on routing, switching, firewall operations, cybersecurity, server configuration, and virtualization.
• Partner with the BIM team to explore the intersection of technology and business processes.
• Contribute to application development by providing insights for new client products and internal staff efficiencies.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a four-year undergraduate program with a focus on a related field, such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, MIS, or Information Technology.
• Demonstrated ability to learn technical basics and grow within the firm.
• 0-2 years of previous internship experience is preferred.
