About the role#
BURNCO Rock Products Ltd is hiring an IT Support Analyst Student for a 4-month summer work term starting in May 2027. Based at our Calgary head office, you will provide onsite and remote technical support to our staff. This role focuses on hardware, software, and network troubleshooting while supporting our daily IT operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide responsive technical support for hardware, software, mobile devices, peripherals, and VOIP systems.
- Troubleshoot issues and manage incidents through the ServiceNow platform.
- Assist with user onboarding and offboarding, including account creation in Active Directory and Office 365.
- Perform routine maintenance and inventory management across various company sites.
- Maintain and update IT documentation and the internal knowledge base.
- Support IT asset management, including the setup and configuration of desktops, laptops, and printers.
- Collaborate with second and third-tier teams for project work and escalations.
- Maintain organized server and equipment rooms.
- Travel to industrial sites as needed and participate in emergency response efforts, which may include after-hours support.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program for Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows OS, and mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Citrix, and basic networking concepts.
- Willingness to learn the ServiceNow platform.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Physical ability to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment like desktop computers and UPS units.
- Comfort working in industrial environments where personal protective equipment is required.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, 4-month position based in Calgary, Alberta.
- Work hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
- On-call availability may be required.
- This role requires occasional travel to various BURNCO sites.
