About the role#
As a Part-Time Geotechnical Soils and Concrete Laboratory Technician, you will work in our accredited laboratory in Greenville. You will report to the Lab Manager and assist with testing samples to maintain our project standards. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently or lead a team to complete scheduled tasks.
What you'll do#
- Receive and process laboratory samples.
- Demold cylinders and label them with Lab IDs.
- Use tools such as tape measures, calipers, squares, and straight-edge rulers.
- Prepare proctors by drying dirt in pans.
- Perform basic soil and concrete tests.
- Learn to conduct specialized tests, including triaxial compression, direct shear, consolidation, grain size analysis, and concrete strength testing.
What you'll need#
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like standing, squatting, kneeling, or bending for extended periods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Clear handwriting and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership.
- Experience using hand tools and testing apparatuses.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious manner.

- This position is based on-site in Greenville, South Carolina.
- This is a part-time, paid role with a rolling term.
