About the role#
The Research Student supports the Principal Investigator or program manager by assisting with project protocols. This position is a per diem, on-site role based in Providence, Rhode Island, suitable for students pursuing degrees in Biology, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Psychology, or Chemistry.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research protocols in collaboration with project staff.
- Assist with participant recruitment, including conducting telephone screenings.
- Perform basic laboratory experiments, such as pipetting and tissue culture.
- Collect, process, and store various biospecimens.
- Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
What you'll need#
- Must be a currently matriculating student in an accredited college program.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
- Prior exposure or experience within a laboratory setting.
Location & details#
- Location: Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, RI.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Per diem, with shifts typically available Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and weekends from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Employment Status: Paid, part-time.
