About the role#
The Research Student works with the Principal Investigator or program manager to support ongoing research projects. This is a per diem position requiring direct supervision from senior faculty or staff. You will assist with clinical protocols or laboratory experiments depending on the specific program needs.
What you'll do#
- Follow research protocols alongside project staff.
- Recruit participants for studies, including conducting telephone screenings.
- Assist research assistants during participant visits and maintain contact regarding appointment schedules.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pipetting, tissue culture, and data analysis.
- Collect, process, and store biospecimens.
- Maintain quality assurance, safety, and infection control standards.
- Perform data entry, cleaning, and literature reviews.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculating student in an accredited college program.
- Academic background in Biology, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Psychology, or Chemistry.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
- Prior experience or exposure to a laboratory setting for basic research roles.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, and bending.

- Location: Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and Saturday through Sunday, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
- Term: Rolling.
