About the role#
Bread for the World is seeking an intern to support the Deputy Director of Data, Information Systems, and Development Operations. This role focuses on grant-funded data, evaluation, and data quality activities related to nutritional health and food insecurity. You will gain experience in data sourcing, visualization, and constituent record management within a non-profit environment. This is a part-time position, up to 30 hours per week, running from October 2026 through October 2027.
What you'll do#
- Gather and clean public data regarding food insecurity, demographics, and nutritional health.
- Develop and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and update resources as new data becomes available.
- Generate state-based factsheets for internal staff and members.
- Support program evaluation and grant reporting through data analysis, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Maintain constituent records in Raiser’s Edge NXT, including processing updates and identifying duplicate entries.
- Perform data imports, troubleshoot exceptions, and conduct quality reviews.
- Assist with donor list preparation and general data verification tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program in data analytics, statistics, public health, public policy, business administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Tableau, Tableau Prep, and Power BI, with required experience in dashboard development.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and standard office communication tools like Outlook, Slack, and Zoom.
- Ability to clean, validate, and interpret data from administrative or public sources.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
- Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, data imports, or constituent record maintenance is preferred.
