    About the role#

    This is an entry-level position where you will receive hands-on training in our construction materials lab. You will work alongside an experienced technician to learn how to evaluate the quality of materials used in construction projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform test procedures on soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, stone, and masonry.
    • Learn to operate laboratory testing devices.
    • Monitor machine function by listening for changes in sound.
    • Assist with various lab tasks while maintaining a focus on accuracy.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a degree program for Geology, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
    • Basic math and computer skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work well within a team.
    • Detail-oriented mindset and strong organizational habits.
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
    • Flexibility to multitask, shift priorities, and modify your schedule to meet project deadlines.
    • Physical ability to stand, walk, push, pull, twist, reach, bend, crawl, climb, and lift at least 80 pounds.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Dayton, Ohio.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
    • Note: Some overtime may be required. You will be exposed to dust, soil, and other environmental factors in the lab.
