About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our Global Electronic Medical Equipment R&D team. You will work on user interface software for medical capital equipment. This role provides hands-on experience with software development, quality practices, and secure Linux-based systems.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and debug UI software for medical devices.
- Write code using C++ and object-oriented programming principles.
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to build reliable, maintainable software.
- Learn about Linux environments, operating system concepts, and secure development practices.
- Join in on code reviews, technical discussions, and software troubleshooting.
- Apply software engineering best practices within a regulated medical device environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Rising junior or rising senior status with a graduation date between December 2028 and May 2029.
- Experience with C++ programming.
- Ability to start on May 17th or May 24th, 2027, and commit to a 12-week internship.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
- Familiarity with object-oriented programming, Linux environments, and version control tools like Git.
- Interest in cybersecurity, secure software development, or operating system security.
- Exposure to UI development, software architecture, or documentation and verification processes.
Location & details#
- This internship is based in Arden Hills, Minnesota.
- The position is on-site, requiring work in the office 5 days per week.
- This is a full-time, paid position.
