About the role#
The Branch Intern - Engineer role offers students the opportunity to work on real-world projects within our Grid Solutions portfolio. You will gain exposure to the daily operations of our business, including process improvement, data support, and project management. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in the electrical supply distribution industry.
What you'll do#
- Track and update project milestones, deliverables, and risks with the Project Manager team.
- Apply project management processes to support scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including estimates, material submittals, status reports, and meeting minutes.
- Assist with generating quotes in SAP and documenting opportunities in Salesforce.
- Research and gather product data for our E-Commerce site.
- Support the Total Customer Cost Management process by entering data into SharePoint.
- Participate in on-site customer projects, including part identification, and travel with Application Engineers to customer sites.
- Help organize and present office or engineer trainings and assist with company events and conferences.
- Build professional relationships through one-on-ones, meetings, and group projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or BA degree program in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.
- Completion of your sophomore year with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Proficiency in business office procedures and equipment operation.
- Strong data entry skills and familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
