About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern, you will work directly with Project Managers and Project Engineers to learn the daily functions required to complete an industrial construction project. This is a hands-on program lasting at least 12 weeks. You will typically work 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime depending on project needs.
What you'll do#
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, contracts, specifications, and regulations.
- Estimate costs, manage material purchasing, and prepare bids or proposals.
- Handle invoice approvals, quotes, and change orders.
- Conduct labor productivity, safety, and quality audits.
- Manage project controls and scheduling.
- Assist superintendents and preconstruction staff.
- Research new products, equipment, and vendors.
- Track job progress and develop plans to address delays.
- Report work progress and budget matters to project managers or clients.
- Lead process improvement, cost-cutting, or Lean projects.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A desire to work in the industrial construction industry as a future Project Engineer.
- Strong work ethic, a responsible attitude, and the ability to think analytically.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- Roles are on-site in Arizona, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, and Oregon.
